We are in a recovery so says that famous economist Harry Reid.

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) on Thursday said the American economy is "in a recovery" despite the decline in the nation's gross domestic product (GDP).

Reid made the remark after Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) blamed the White House for the unexpected contraction in the economy.

“[McConnell] continues bad mouthing the recovery,” Reid said on the Senate floor. “We are in a recovery.

I guess that "recovery" Harry speaks of explains today's "unexpected" jobless claims...

Veteran skeet shooter Barack Obama has yelled "pull" only once or twice it seems.

"The only time he shot skeet was for President's Cup," said the source, referring to a shooting competition tradition involving the presidential Marine guards. "I was there. He stayed for about five minutes, and couldn't leave fast enough."

Skeet shooting "is very hard," said the source. "Especially for someone not used to guns ... He couldn't have been more uncomfortable."

The man would lie if it was easier to tell the truth. He is a liberal. Liberals lie, about everything.

A report earlier on Wednesday showed the economy unexpectedly contracted in the fourth quarter as inventory investment slowed and government spending plunged. Analysts said Superstorm Sandy in late October also disrupted the recovery.

The U.S. economy posted a stunning drop of 0.1 percent in the fourth quarter, defying expectations for slow growth and possibly providing incentive for more Federal Reserve stimulus.

The economy shrank from October through December for the first time since the recession ended, hurt by the biggest cut in defense spending in 40 years, fewer exports and sluggish growth in company stockpiles.

The Commerce Department said Wednesday that the economy contracted at an annual rate of 0.1 percent in the fourth quarter. That's a sharp slowdown from the 3.1 percent growth rate in the July-September quarter.

The surprise contraction could raise fears about the economy's ability to handle tax increases that took effect in January and looming spending cuts.

Only four more years of this, if the country survives. We are screwed.

“That means passing serious laws that restrict the access and availability of assault weapons and magazine clips that aren’t necessary for hunters and sportsmen, those responsible gun owners who are out there. It means that we are serious about universal background checks, it means that we take seriously issues of mental health and school safety,” he said.

The 2nd Amendment has nothing to do with sportsmen. It is all that protects us from tyranny.

When Idiots Lie

Idiots usually get a pass when they lie, especially if they are the Vice President.

Vice President Joseph R. Biden’s claim that he heard the gunshots of a 2006 school massacre while playing golf is raising questions about his veracity or his memory.

Mr. Biden told a meeting of mayors in Washington Thursday that he was about a quarter-mile away from an Amish schoolhouse on Oct. 2, 2006, when a gunman shot and killed five students and wounded five others.

“I happened to be literally — probably, it turned out, to be a quarter of a mile [away] at an outing when I heard gunshots in the woods,” Mr. Biden recounted. “We didn’t know … we thought they were hunters.”

But a search of maps of the area in Lancaster County, Pa., shows the nearest golf course to the site of the shooting, Moccasin Run Golf Club, is about five miles away. Rodney King, the golf pro at Moccasin Run, said Friday he was working at the course on the day of the shooting and never saw Mr. Biden, who was then a U.S. senator.

“There’s a lot of things here that I find hard to believe,” Mr. King said. “I looked in my database, and he [Mr. Biden] is not in my database.”

The only database Joe is in involves tracking mental health patients.

Representative Stockman has it right in my view...

The Texas Republican called Mr. Obama's plans to skirt Congress and implement some controls administratively "an unconstitutional and unconscionable attack on the very founding principles of this republic."

"I will seek to thwart this action by any means necessary, including but not limited to eliminating funding for implementation, defunding the White House, and even filing articles of impeachment," Mr. Stockman said.

I hope others in Congress stand up and do the right thing too. Until then I have some older rifles not used in a while that need cleaned and sighted in.

His sidekicks Dick Durbin, Patty Murray and Chuck Schumer are valid cases to be institutionalized also, as they all voted against this same measure in 2006.

This is a puzzler. What “lawful steps” could Obama take “without Congressional approval” that would permit racking up more debt? Article I of the Constitution gives Congress the exclusive “Power…To borrow Money on the credit of the United States.” Obama has no such authority. Are the senators urging Obama to violate the Constitution? Or perhaps to pursue the trillion-dollar platinum coin gambit? It is impossible to say.

These people hate the Constitution. What part of Obama has no such authority confuses the senile old bat and his band of circus freaks?

Duped By The Thugs Again

These folks are not politicians, they are slimy thieves...

In its monthly statement for December, released Friday, the U.S. Treasury says the federal government balanced its budget during the month, bringing in roughly $270 billion in revenues while making roughly $270 billion in expenditures.

Yet, the Treasury also says that during December it increased by $63.079 billion the national debt subject to the legal limit set by Congress, thus dramatically bringing the debt to that legal limit on Dec. 31, just as Congress and the White House were involved in final negotiations on a deal to avert the so-called “fiscal cliff”--which would have cancelled all of the lower income tax rates signed into law by President George W. Bush.

As the fiscal cliff negotiations were underway on Dec. 31, the Treasury, according to the Daily Treasury Statement for that day, borrowed an additional $95.953 billion against the statutory limit, thus increasing the debt from $16,298,022 at the start of business that morning to $16,393,975 at the close of business that day.

The Treasury did not spend all of that newly borrowed money that day, however--even as it was balancing the budget for the month.

Instead, Treasury stashed an additional $33.954 billion into its cash reserve. Thus, it increased its total cash holdings that day to a total of $92.720 billion.

In other words, the Treasury not only balanced the budget in December, it closed the month with an extra $92.720 billion in cash in its account.

Strong armed into cutting a deal with the devil and his minions, the once great GOP was duped again.

After Geithner declared that the debt limit had been reached on Dec. 31, Republican leaders in Congress agreed to a "fiscal cliff" deal that increased taxes. It passed the Senate in the wee hours of Jan. 1 and passed the House later that day. President Obama signed it into law on Jan. 2, 2013.

Is it any wonder this Administration wants a unarmed society?
We will not recognize America in four two more years.

Wyoming Tells Obama To Pound Sand

I was born and raised in Wyoming (before heading to a place colder!), we value our guns and freedom...

Local radio station KTWO reports that lawmakers in Wyoming have proposed a "Firearms Protection Act" that provides a state-level annulment of any ban against semi-automatics or magazines that hold 20 or 30 rounds or more. 

If the measure passes, it would mean that anyone--even federal agents-who try to enforce a ban within the state borders could be charged with a felony.

North Dakota is looking at something also...

The two chemical companies have spent years and hundreds of millions of dollars developing R-1234yf to replace R-134a, the new refrigerant shown to be 99.7-percent kinder to the environment than the one it is meant to succeed... [After testing, the EU declared] that new and significantly revised cars from 2013 onward needed to use R-1234yf, and mandated that every car as of 2017 must use it.

Enter Daimler AG. The automaker created a head-on collision test with a B-Class at their Sindelfingen test track that would lead to the pressurized refrigerant being sprayed on the engine. The result in 20 out of 20 test[s] was that the refrigerant burst into flames as soon as it hit the hot engine... Another unexpected result of the R-1234yf test was the release of hydrogen flouride, a chemical far more deadly to humans than hydrogen cyanide, emitted in such amounts that it that turned the windshield white as it began to eat into the glass.

No epiphanies in Washington: The Congressional Budget Office estimates that the latest triumphant deal includes $2 billion of cuts for fiscal year 2013. Wow! That's what the Government of the United States borrows every 10 hours and 38 minutes. Spending two months negotiating 10 hours of savings is like driving to a supermarket three states away to save a nickel on your grocery bill.

There cannot be more than a handful of folks in Washington who actually care about our country anymore or this would never stand. I am not sure if elections do matter.
